This article explains what Human Interface Devices (HID) mean
HID or "Human Interface Device " is a USB protocol used on most modern operating systems such as Windows, Android, Ubuntu, etc. In most cases HID allows you to connect a USB device without the need to install special drivers. HID has generic drivers already built into the Operating System thus allowing USB devices, such as touchscreens, mice, and keyboards to function natively.
