This article explains how to update the webview controller on your EloView device(s)
Download Chromium 74 APK
1. Click here to download the APK
Upload Web Application (POS)
1. Login to the EloView website – https://manage.eloview.com
2. In the “Contents” area, click the Plus Sign (+) in the App Library
3. Click the URL link
4. Upload your web application:
- The website name
- The website address (URL)
- Browse to the website icon file
- A short description of the website
5. Click the Add Content button when ready
6. Edit the web application by double-clicking the icon in the App Library.
7. Click the Edit button
8. Make sure the following settings are established for the web application:
- Web View Type – Native
- User Agent – Device Default
Upload Chromium Web Engine 74 (APK)
9. In the “Contents” area, click the Plus Sign (+) in the App Library
10. By default, you have the option to add an application (APK). Upload the Chromium 74 APK:
- The application name
- Browse to the APK file
- Browse to the APK icon file
- A short description of the application
11. Click the Add Content button when ready
Create a Content “Bundle” for Web App and Chromium 74
12. In the “Contents” area, click the Plus Sign (+) in the App Library
13. Click the SMART APPS link
14. Select the Bundle Smart App Type
15. Specify the following:
- Browse to the foreground application – your web application
- Browse and select a background app – the Chromium 74 APK. DO NOT check the “Run” option for this app.
16. Click the Add Content button when ready
Publishing Bundle to a Single Device
17. In the “Contents” area, drag-and-drop the content to the appropriate device in the list.
18. Click Yes to confirm.
19. To verify that the device is using the Chromium 74 web engine, access the device Control Panel button by pressing the and buttons at the same time.
20. In the “Apps” area, select the “Android Settings” icon
21. Go to the “Apps” area and select the “Android System WebView” app
- Note that the web view version is 74x
