This article explains how to change from the Elo Driver to HID on PCAP products
Steps for changing from Elo Driver to HID can be found below.
Executive Summary
On some systems such as Linux OS, when using PCAP monitors, if the Elo touch driver is installed it may cause random issues with touch and video. Correction is to remove the Elo touch driver, reboot the computer and allow the operating system’s HID drivers to operate the touch screen.
Root Cause
Most Linux distributions with kernel 3.x or higher, already have touch support built in through the kernel’s HID support. If the Elo touch driver is installed on these systems, there may be conflicts between the drivers causing various touch and video issues.
Correction
If connecting an Elo PCAP technology touch monitor to a Linux system with kernel 3.x or higher, it is recommended that you do not install an Elo touch driver, but rather just use the systems HID drivers.
If an Elo touch driver has been installed and you are experiencing random issues, please remove the Elo driver, restart the system and allow the native HID drivers to operate the touch screen.
