This article provides information on how to set the X-Series Rev. B as the primary display in Windows
Please see the information below regarding setting the X-Series Rev. B as the primary display in Windows.
On the X-Series Revision B AIO Touchcomputer, Windows will not allow the X-Series to be identified as Display #1 when using in a multiple display configuration. This tech bulletin describes how to install and use EloSetPrimary_X-Series to cause Windows to see the Elo X-Series AIO as the primary display which permits all newly opened applications to open on the X-Series.
Steps:
1. Download EloSetPrimary_X-Series_v1.0.0.0.zip (valid at the time of this writing)
a. Unzip files from EloSetPrimary_X-Series_v1.0.0.0.zip to local drive on X-Series system.
2. With external monitor connected, run EloSetPrimary_X-Series.exe by double-clicking it.
a. The application will quickly flash a cmd screen and then go away – no user intervention is needed.
i. All newly-opened applications should now show up on the X-Series AIO.
b. As an alternative, you may also run the application in a command prompt.
i. Open a Command Prompt, navigate to the folder where the application is stored and run EloSetPrimary_X-Series.exe:
ii. All newly-opened applications should now show up on AIO monitor.
The timing to do Step #2 could be:
1. The first time the system is just restored from image as long as the external monitor is connected and will not be changed.
Or
2. Every time the system reboots, so the software tool sets the AIO monitor as primary display for applications again.
Note: This application does not cause Windows to identify the X-Series AIO as the (#1) Display, it manipulates the way Windows identifies primary and secondary displays, thereby allowing newly opened Windows applications to open and run on the X-Series AIO instead of a secondary connected display.
