This article provides information regarding the Android 14 release for select Elo Android devices, including supported hardware, upgrade requirements, SDK compatibility recommendations, and developer migration guidance.
Android 14 will become available for supported Elo Android devices beginning June 18, 2026. This release introduces the latest Android enterprise security, privacy, and device management enhancements while maintaining compatibility with Elo's Android ecosystem.
Supported Devices
Android 14 is available for the following Elo devices:
- I-Series 4
- Backpack 4
- M50
- Elo Pay M60
- Elo Pay 22
- Elo Pay 7
- Elo Pay M100
Upgrade Requirements
Access to the Android 14 upgrade requires an active EloCare OS 360 subscription. Devices without a valid OS 360 subscription are not eligible to receive Android 14.
With EloCare OS 360, Android 14 can be deployed through:
- EloView
- Direct download on supported devices
Android 12 updates will continue through June 18, 2027. After that date, software updates will only be provided for Android 14.

New Elo devices will continue shipping with Android 10 or Android 12, allowing customers to control the timing of their migration to Android 14.

Developer Migration and Compatibility Guidance
Applications migrating from Android 10 or Android 12 should be reviewed and tested for compatibility with Android 14 (API Level 34).
Android 14 introduces platform changes that may require application updates, including:
- Foreground Service Type requirements
- Broadcast Receiver security changes
- Additional Android 14 platform restrictions and behavior changes
Developers should perform thorough validation and phased testing before deploying Android 14 across production environments. Hardware interactions and application behavior may vary between Android versions.
