This article explains how to enroll GMS-certified Elo Android devices into AirWatch as Work Managed Devices
Steps for enrolling an Elo GMS device into AirWatch as a Work Managed Device can be found below.
Android Enterprise is supported on Elo's GMS-certified Android hardware, such as:
• I-Series for Android with Google Play Services (3.0)
• PayPoint® Plus for Android™ — with Google Play Services (3.0)
• PayPoint® for Android™ — with Google Play Services (3.0)
• Elo Backpack® with Google Play Services (3.0)
Administrators may choose to enroll devices into AirWatch as a Work Managed Device . This method allows the device to be fully managed by AirWatch as "Device Owner."
There are two primary ways this can be accomplished:
1. Enrolling with Workspace ONE Identifier
2. Enrolling with QR Code (not supported on Elo Backpack or "Value" models of I-Series for Android)
Before enrollment can occur, devices must be updated to the latest EloView version.
1. The device requires an update to our Google-approved software image (EloView Version 4.36.60 or above)
2. The device requires to be switched to Android Home (Android Desktop) mode
Updating Software From Device Control Panel
First, access the device Control Panel by pressing HOME+POWER buttons on the back of the unit and entering your Control Panel Password (Default 1elo). Once you are in the Control Panel, tap on the Settings tab. Lastly, tap the Update Device button to check for applicable software updates. If updates are available, you will be presented with the option to download and apply.
A progress bar will begin to advance and the device will soon switch back to the content placeholder “We’ll Be Right Back”. The download is continuing to progress in the background and will apply/reboot when complete.
After the device is confirmed to be running 4.36.60 or above, switch the device into Android Home mode.
1. Enter EloView Control Panel by pressing the Home and Power buttons simultaneously on the back of the unit
2. When prompted for password enter: 1elo (Default)*
3. From the Home tab, tap 5 times anywhere in the white area until Android Home button appears
4. Tap Android Home
5. Select “Yes” on the prompt to exit EloView
6. The unit will reboot to the Android Desktop
When the device reboots to Android Desktop, next apply a factory reset from Android Settings. From here, factory reset the device.
• Swipe up and select SettingsSystemReset OptionsErase All Data (Factory Reset)
When complete, the device will reboot and you will be presented with Google OOBE screens where Android Enterprise enrollment can occur.
The resources below will provide details from VMware on how to enroll using the two supported methods:
