This article explains how to determine which version of the EloView cloud service your Elo device is currently communicating with and how to manually switch a supported device to EloView 4 (EV4).
These procedures require access to the device Control Panel and Admin settings. Use the Control Panel and administrator passwords configured for your device. If the passwords have not been changed, the default password may be 1elo.
Identifying the Current EloView Version
- Press the physical HOME and POWER buttons on the back of the device simultaneously to open the Control Panel.
- If prompted, enter the device’s Control Panel password. If a custom password has not been configured, try the default password: 1elo.
- Tap the Menu (hamburger) icon in the upper-right corner.
-
From the Quick Settings menu, tap Admin.
- Enter the device’s administrator password. If a custom password has not been configured, try 1elo.
- Tap Settings.
- Tap Diagnostics.
- On the Diagnostics page, locate the Cloud Service field. The displayed value identifies the EloView service to which the device is currently connected.
If the Cloud Service field displays EloView 4 or EV4, the device is already communicating with the EloView 4 platform. No additional changes are required.
Before Switching to EloView 4
Devices currently communicating with EloView 3 must meet the minimum required OTA version before they can migrate to EloView 4.
Before switching a device to EloView 4, review the minimum OTA requirements for migrating EloView 3 devices to EloView 4 .
If the device does not meet the required minimum OTA version, update it before continuing with the EloView 4 migration.
Updating the Device Before Migration
- 2.0 and 3.0 devices: Follow the instructions in How Can I Update an EloView Device from the Device in EloView 3 (EV3)? to update the device to the required OTA version.
- 4.0 (Gen 4) devices: From the Diagnostics page, tap Update Device to check for and install an available OTA update. Allow the update to complete before proceeding with the EloView 4 migration.
Do not proceed with the EloView 4 migration until the device meets the minimum OTA requirement for its device type.
Manually Switching the Device to EloView 4 (EV4)
After confirming that the device meets the minimum OTA requirement, use the following procedure to manually configure the device to communicate with EloView 4.
Confirm that your device and deployment are intended to use EloView 4 before changing this setting. The device must also have a working network connection to complete the transition.
- Tap Elo Settings.
- Locate the Switch To EloView 4 setting and move the slider to ON.

- Allow the device several minutes to establish its connection to EloView 4. In some cases, the device may automatically restart to apply the change.
After the device reconnects, return to Settings > Diagnostics and verify that the Cloud Service field identifies EloView 4.

If the issue continues, contact Elo Technical Support and provide the device model, serial number, current OTA version, and the value displayed in the Cloud Service field.
