Below are three (3) different methods to try as a temporary work-around until this issue gets completely resolved.
Method #1
Uninstall new Microsoft Updates
For the moment it is recommended to uninstall the aforementioned updates until a final solution is provided by Microsoft.
- If more recent Microsoft updates have been installed other than the updates listed above, they must be removed in order, starting with the most recently installed.
Star Micronics has prepared a help center article for anyone affected by this issue which describes how to uninstall Windows updates manually, click HERE

(NOTICE: Some customers have reported they can no longer uninstall the June 2021 Microsoft updates as Microsoft has marked them as "required." If you are unable to uninstall the updates, skip this method and proceed with the methods below).
Method #2
Create a printer queue on non-Administrator account.
- This method deletes the existing printer queue once, for which the settings are returned to default.
1. Go to Windows Control Panel and open Devices and Printers
2. Right-click on the relevant printer queue and choose Remove device
2. Type in your Admin password.
3. Select Yes when promted.
4. Disconnect and then reconnect the printers USB cable. This will create a new printer queue and should resolve the issue.
Method #3
Switch to a local user while signed in as a user with administrator.
- This method will leave the administrator user signed in.
1. Completely Shut down the computer
2. Start computer back up and sign in as Admin
3. Open the printer queue to the printer.
4. Go to Windows 10 Start button and sign in as a Local user but DO NOT log out of Admin account on the computer. Printer should now work without issues.
5. Do not reboot computer. If computer gets rebooted you will need to follow above steps again.
