Q: I am get an error stating "Device Already Exists" or "Unable to Add Device" in EloView 3 when I attempt to add a new device. How can I resolve this?
A: Some customers have reported errors stating "Device Already Exists" or "Unable to Add Device" in EloView when attempting to add a new device. Below are some tips to help resolve these issues.
1. Verify the device name is not already being used by another device. For instance, 2 devices cannot have the name 'Kiosk1' simultaneously.
2. Verify the Serial Number is not already registered in the main account or subaccount(s).
3. If you are setting up the device for a third party, ensure the third party has not already created an account and added the device.
4. Verify with your Account Admin that you have the permissions to add devices to the account.
