Android OS Upgrade Limitations on Legacy PayPoint® 1.0 (Elo-PP1 / Android 5.0.2)

⚠️ Operating System Upgrade Notice:
First-generation Elo PayPoint® for Android Rev. A (1.0 / Model: Elo-PP1) systems running factory Android 5.0.2 (Lollipop) are architecturally locked-down platforms and cannot be upgraded to higher versions of Android.
Affected Discontinued Part Numbers
The following Rev. A part numbers were officially discontinued in 2018 and are restricted to Android 5.0.2:

Architecture & Product Generation Differences
- PayPoint Rev. A (1.0): Built on legacy System-on-Chip (SoC) architecture with fixed kernel board support packages (BSP). The internal firmware bootloader does not support partition re-flashing or over-the-air OS upgrades beyond the factory Lollipop build.
- PayPoint Plus / Rev. B (2.0): Field OS update capabilities and long-term cloud lifecycle management (via EloView® and OS 360) were introduced starting with PayPoint Plus (Rev. B / 2.0) hardware revisions.
✔ Modern Hardware Upgrade Path:
If your Point-of-Sale (POS) or payment software requires modern Android API levels (Android 10 through Android 14+), upgrade to modern enterprise hardware such as PayPoint® Plus for Android, EloPOS™ for Android, or EloPOS Z-Series. Visit the Elo POS Product Portfolio for current models.
