This article explains how to configure an Elo PCAP monitor with an Atmel touch controller for Touch and Hold (Press-to-Talk, or PTT) operation by switching the internal touch controller from Digitizer Mode to Mouse Mode.

This procedure applies only to Elo PCAP monitors that use an Atmel touch controller. Running this utility on a monitor with a different touch controller may cause the touchscreen to become inoperable.

Step 1: Verify the Monitor Uses an Atmel Touch Controller
- Connect the monitor to a Windows computer using both the USB and video cables.
- Remove any installed Elo touch drivers from the computer.
- Open Device Manager.
- Expand Mice and other pointing devices.
- Right-click each HID-compliant mouse entry and select Properties.
- Select the Details tab.
- From the Property drop-down list, select Hardware Ids.

If the controller is manufactured by Atmel, the Hardware ID will begin with:
HID\VID_03EB
Step 2: Configure the Touch Controller for Press-to-Talk
After verifying that the monitor uses an Atmel touch controller, complete the following steps.

Download the PTT utility.
https://downloads.elotouch.com/Downloads/Utilities/PCAP/PTT.zip - Extract the contents of the ZIP file to a local folder.
- Double-click PTT.bat to start the utility.

If Windows displays the Windows protected your PC message:
- Click More info.
- Select Run anyway.

Allow the utility to complete without interruption.
Do not close the Command Prompt window or disconnect the monitor while the utility is running. - When the message below appears, press any key on the keyboard to close the Command Prompt window.
done... Press any key to continue... - Power cycle the monitor by disconnecting power for approximately 30 seconds, then reconnect the power cable.
- Restart the computer and verify that Touch and Hold functionality is operating as expected.
⚠ Reverting to Digitizer Mode
If you need to restore the touch controller to its original Digitizer Mode, download and run the Rev_PTT utility.

Changing the touch controller mode is intended only for applications that require Press-to-Talk (PTT) or Touch and Hold functionality. If your application does not require these features, Elo recommends leaving the controller in its default Digitizer Mode.
