This article details how to update an EloView device that receives the error "Your Elo Device is Already on the Same or Higher Version"

The message: "Your Elo Device is Already on the Same or Higher Version" is most often seen on 2.0 EloView devices when upgrading to Android 8.1. In order to upgrade you must select a version with a higher firmware version than is currently on your device. Pay close attention to the second pair of numbers in bold.

Example:
To upgrade from 3.54.17 to 8.1 you would need to select 4.58.20+a, since 5854, the upgrade will succeed. If you attempted to upgrade to 4.54.15+a, the update would fail with error "Your Elo Device is Already on the Same or Higher Version" as 54 is not greater than 54.
