This article discusses device heartbeat connections to the EloView 3 cloud servers

A device registered to EloView will send a "heartbeat" signal to EloView servers, or the cloud, in order to communicate its status with the cloud and determine whether content or settings should be set according to the cloud's data. If the device detects that is not communicating with the EloView servers, then the device will send a heartbeat signal every 1.5 minutes. If the device detects that is communicating with EloView servers, then it will send a heartbeat signal every 1 minute.
