This article describes the temperature control built into the 2799L Outdoor Open Frame monitor
Temperature Control
The monitor contains a thermal sensor that provides the user with real-time temperature readings. This reading can be found by opening the OSD menu: Information ► System Temperature. If the monitor is operated above the operating temperature limit, the monitor will go into “Thermal Protection Mode” which will turn on the internal fans to dissipate heat until the internal temperature is back within operating range. If the temperature continues to rise and reaches 90°C, brightness will be limited. If the internal temperature decreases below the Thermal Protection Mode temperature for at least five minutes, normal operation is resumed.
If the temperature exceeds 70 °C, the user will be prompted to shut off the monitor within sixty seconds. The following icon will appear in the Main Menu.
This will indicate that the Thermal Protection Mode is active. If the system is not manually turned off within sixty seconds or the display internal temperature is not reduced below 70 °C, the display will automatically turn off to prevent permanent damage.
