This article covers downstream USB connection support in EloView’s Peripheral Configuration.

EloView 4 supports a single downstream USB connection in Peripheral Configuration.

• When a USB hub is connected, the hub itself will be detected.

• Devices connected through the hub will still function, but they will not appear individually in Peripheral Configuration.

This behavior is by design. If you need a peripheral to appear in Peripheral Configuration, connect it directly to the device’s USB-A port instead of through a hub.

For clarity, see the examples below:

• Direct connection: The Magtek USB Swipe Reader is connected directly to the I-Series 4 USB-A port. In this case, Properties display the HID device.

• Through a hub: The Magtek USB Swipe Reader is connected to a USB hub, and the hub is then connected to the I-Series 4 USB-A port. In this case, Properties display only the hub, not the reader.
