This article covers downstream USB connection support in EloView’s Peripheral Configuration.
EloView 4 supports a single downstream USB connection in Peripheral Configuration.
When a USB hub is connected, the hub itself will be detected.
Devices connected through the hub will still function, but they will not appear individually in Peripheral Configuration.
This behavior is by design. If you need a peripheral to appear in Peripheral Configuration, connect it directly to the device’s USB-A port instead of through a hub.
For clarity, see the examples below:
- Direct connection: The Magtek USB Swipe Reader is connected directly to the I-Series 4 USB-A port. In this case, Properties display the HID device.
- Through a hub: The Magtek USB Swipe Reader is connected to a USB hub, and the hub is then connected to the I-Series 4 USB-A port. In this case, Properties display only the hub, not the reader.
Note: This behavior is expected. EloView 4 supports a single downstream USB connection in Peripheral Configuration. When a hub is used, only the hub is detected.
