This article describes how to program the MIFARE NFC reader
Please see the information below to program the MIFARE NFC reader.
1. Download and unzip the NFC Customer Files.zip to a location on your computer.
2. Install and run the 68MDLX2M.exe Upgrade Tool.
a. Select USB HID Keyboard
b. From Update Device, select UIC680SG_MAD Main Board from the drop-down menu.
3. Load MIFARE Firmware
a. Click on the Load File button and choose the firmware file: 68TP9621_b11_T.bin (NOTE: 68TP9621_b11_T.bin is for MIFARE Sector 0 Block 01. If your MIFARE card needs to read Sector 0 Block 00 you would use firmware 68TP9621_b10_T.bin instead)
b. Click on the Download button to begin the firmware download to the device.
c. Wait for download to complete. Typically takes around a minute or two to complete. You will hear a few beeps from the NFC reader during this phase. When it is finished it will display Download complete! In the Status field.
4. Check version
a. Press Get Version
b. Check in the Version field for version. It must be 170616
c. Press Exit to close the utility
5. Activate MIFARE
a. Install and run the file 68SG4X2I.exe which is the UIC680SG Demo Utility.
b. Click on the Communication tab and choose USB HID Keyboard as the interface, then Continue
6. Click on the Direct IO Command tab
a. Choose BLP as the Protocol
b. Type MF12 in the input field and press Send Data
7. Power Cycle the UIC680 by physically disconnecting the USB connection and then reconnect.
8. Open notepad and read MIFARE card
9. If MIFARE does not read, go back to step 7 and send MF15 command, cycle power to the reader and try reading MIFARE card again.
a) Below is a sample of block 0 data after tapping Mifare 1K on the reader.Try different modes: MF10, MF11, MF … MF15 After (every) change a power cycle is required.
