This guide provides information for installing and setting up the E673037 Omnikey 5127CK RFID Reader on an Android Operating system.
⚠️ Attention: Advanced Android Development Required
The installation of HID's Android SDK/Driver (AAR library) and USB OTG configuration requires Android developer knowledge (e.g., Android Studio, Gradle integration, USB Host API). There is no simple installer like on Windows—it's app-level integration, not end-user plug-and-play. Only attempt if experienced with Android development; otherwise, seek developer assistance or use pre-built apps.
- Android device running 7.0 (API 24) or later (e.g., Samsung, Google Pixel, rugged tablets).
- USB OTG support (most devices; check via OTG checker app).
- USB OTG adapter/cable (Micro-USB, USB-C, or hub).
- Smart card for testing.
- Compatible app (e.g., "PC/SC Reader" apps, custom EMV/PKCS#11 apps using HID SDK).
- Enable USB Debugging (optional, for ADB logs): Settings > Developer Options.
- Space: ~10 MB for driver extraction.
Verify OTG: Download "USB OTG Checker" from Play Store; connect OTG cable—LED should light up.
- Go to the Elo Developer Portal and download the Elo Edge Connect™ RFID (E673037) SDK
