This article explains the WebView Hardware Access used for in EloView

The WebView Hardware Access toggle in EloView is intended to shorten development time for customers. When toggled, WebView Hardware Access will allow Javascript loaded inside a webapp access to hardware peripherals on the device. This allows for simplified development by reducing work needed to integrate with Android SDKs, and eliminates the requirement for a native Android application in most scenarios.

This feature can be enabled or disabled in the "Device Settings" area of EloView, and only functions on Elo's 4.0 Series of devices.
