This article provides steps on troubleshooting an abnormal hue on an Elo monitor
If you are connecting an Elo touch monitor to a computer and the video display has a pink hue or other incorrect color, see the below troubleshooting steps.
1. Check the video cable - a pink tint or hue to the video display is usually a hardware issue. If one of the video connector pins is bent, or the cable is damaged, or the connector is not tightened securely, it can cause the video to display a pink hue or other incorrect colors.
- If there is a bent pin in the video cable you will need to use a pair of needle nose pliers to straighten the pin or swap out the video cable.
- If there is a bent pin in the computer's video connector, you will need to use a pair of needle nose pliers to straighten the pin.
- If the connector is not tightened down securely, you will need to tighten it.
- If the video cable is damaged, you will need to replace it.
2. Test with a new or known good video cable - even if the video cable is connected tightly, no pins are bent, or there is no apparent damage, try a different cable anyway. In rare cases a video cable can be internally defective.
3. Check your video display settings - it is possible that the color settings have been altered causing the issue. You will need to adjust the settings accordingly. Please check with the computer manufacturer for how to check video color settings on your computer.
4. Update your video graphics card - it is rare for a video graphics card driver to cause this issue; however, it is always best to use the very latest graphics driver. Elo does not have specific video graphics drivers for our touch monitors. We rely upon the graphics card and driver built into your computer to display properly. Please contact the manufacturer of the video graphics card to obtain the latest driver.
5. Test on a different computer - if none of the above steps help, try the monitor on a completely different computer and see if the issue persists.
- If the issue persists, you have a defective touch monitor, and it should be sent in under an RMA for repair/replacement. To obtain an RMA please visit the Service Portal: https://portal.elotouch.com/Services
- If the issue does NOT persist, there is an issue with the computer it was connected to. You will need to troubleshoot the computer. For help with this, please contact the manufacturer of your computer.
