Power Connection Guidelines for Elo Touchmonitors
This article clarifies the proper power connection methods for touchmonitors from Elo — Now part of Zebra Technologies that feature dual input configurations.
Dual Power Configurations: Some Elo touchscreen monitor models are engineered with both AC (Alternating Current) and DC (Direct Current) power input ports built directly into the interface panel.
"Should I connect both AC and DC power connections?"
Critical Safety Warning: No. Do not connect both power sources at the same time. Plating or powering both ports simultaneously may cause an electrical power overload, trip internal safety fuses, or permanently damage the monitor circuitry.
Only use one power connection method—either AC or DC—based on your specific integration and installation requirements:
- AC Power Option: Connect a standard power cord directly from your wall outlet to the AC input port on the monitor. This utilizes the display's internal power supply brick.
- DC Power Option: Connect an external DC power adapter (typically 12VDC) directly to the DC barrel jack. This is ideal for specialized low-voltage enclosures or setups utilizing a consolidated external power source.
