Additionally, it’s beneficial for organizations with strict network policies or when managing multiple devices in different locations.
This article provides steps to manually update the Elo device firmware without connecting to a network, using a MicroSD card. The example below uses firmware version 3.36.102.
Prerequisites
• MicroSD card: Ensure you have a MicroSD card.
• Firmware files: Download the OTA files (version: 3.36.102) from the provided location: ic-paris-refresh-ota.zip.
Step 1: Prepare the MicroSD Card
1. Download the OTA File
Download the OTA files (version: 3.36.102) from the provided link: ic-paris-refresh-ota.zip.
2. Copy the OTA File
Copy the downloaded ic-paris-refresh-ota.zip file to the root directory of your MicroSD card.
Step 2: Update the Elo Device Firmware
1. Power Off the Device
Unplug the power cable from the back of the Elo device.
2. Insert the MicroSD Card
Insert the MicroSD card into the designated slot on the back of the Elo device.
3. Enter Recovery Mode
- Press and hold the button located on the back of the Elo device.
- While still holding the button, plug the power cable back in.
4. Navigate to Recovery Options
- After powering on, the Android Recovery menu will appear.
- Use the button to navigate to the option: "Apply Update from SD Card."
5. Select the Update File
- Use the button to select the option.
- Navigate using the button to the file "ic-paris-refresh-ota.zip" on your MicroSD card.
- Use the button to select this file.
6. Firmware Update in Progress
The firmware update process will begin. Once completed, the device will automatically reboot.
Step 3: Post-Update Actions
1. Factory Reset (if required)
If you encounter the recovery screen post-update, select "Wipe data/factory reset" to proceed.
2. Remove the MicroSD Card
Once the device has rebooted, safely remove the MicroSD card.
Step 4: Verify Firmware Version
1. Access the Control Panel
- Simultaneously press the and buttons to access the Control Panel.
- Enter the default password if prompted: 1elo (or your custom password if changed via EloView).
2. Check the Firmware Version
Navigate to the Settings area to confirm that the firmware version is now updated to 3.36.102.
