This article explains how to manually install an APK on and EloView 4 device
The steps outlined below allow users to install local apps, such as APK files, directly onto their EloView devices, which can be essential for businesses needing custom applications not available through traditional app stores. By enabling Auto Play and following the installation process, users can deploy proprietary software, third-party tools, or specialized apps that enhance device functionality. This capability is particularly useful for environments where specific apps are required to optimize workflows, such as in retail, hospitality, or healthcare settings, providing flexibility and greater control over the device's performance.
Steps for Installing a Local App
1. On the device, press the Home and Power buttons simultaneously to access the Control Panel.
2. Swipe up to unlock the Control Panel.
3. If prompted, enter the password. The default password is "1elo" unless it has been changed in EloView.
4. Tap the menu icon (three lines) in the upper-right corner.
5. Select the Admin icon.
6. If prompted again, enter the password (default is "1elo" unless changed in EloView).
7. Tap the Settings icon.
8. Select Elo Settings.
9. Tap Install Local App.
- Note: If this option is grayed out, you must enable Auto Play in the EloView account. For instructions, see [this article].
10. Confirm by selecting Yes to install the app.
11. A message will appear at the bottom of the screen indicating that the app is being installed. Once the message disappears, the app will be installed.
12. Return to the device's main screen, where the newly installed app should now be running.
