On May 24, 2023, Elo will release a new security update for its Android 10 devices as part of its EloCare OS 360 program. This update pertains to some recent security vulnerabilities in chipsets and optimization of Elo’s Android OS. The OS update for Elo I-Series Value devices will incorporate minor bug fixes, whereas Elo I-Series Standard and Mobile (M50/M60) devices will include the Qualcomm component fixes till February 2023.
The update addresses the following vulnerabilities and improvements:
- Mitigates the risk of executing arbitrary code on the device which could escalate privileges, cause a denial-of-service (DoS) condition or gain access to sensitive data.
- Resolves an issue that occurred during the first-time out-of-box experience when devices were connected to Ethernet.
- Improves access to the latest ANR logs by making it easily available via TeamViewer or File Explorer.
Please view the OS 360 security bulletin for information on all vulnerabilities addressed as part of this release.
