This article describes why Elo BackPack or I-Series devices go to sleep after a minute of inactivity.
From time to time, customers report that their Android Backpack or Android I-Series devices repeatedly go to sleep after about a minute of inactivity and must be touched to wake up.
In most cases, this behavior occurs because a Display timer is configured in the EloView account, and the device is being used outside of its scheduled operating hours.
Example:
An Elo Backpack 5 running a web app in EloView 4 has a display timer set to power on at 8:30 AM and power off at 8:30 PM. If the device is used outside those hours, it will briefly wake when touched but will return to sleep shortly after.
Resolution:
Update or remove the timer settings in EloView to match your intended usage.
If you want the device to remain on continuously, remove the schedule entirely to operate 24/7.
