This article provides the steps to install the VFD OPOS driver in Windows 10
The steps below describe how to properly install and test the Elo 2 x 20 Rear Facing Customer Display (VFD) P/N: E001003 and E122426, on a computer system running Windows 10 Operating System and using OPOS drivers.
This procedure is also attached to this article in .pdf form.
Tools Needed
OPOS Driver package, version 1.7.0.0
Procedure
1. Download OPOS Driver package v 1.7.0.0 and unzip to a location on the computer.
2. Run the Application setup107
a. Follow the install prompts, choose Next
b. Choose Install
c. Driver will begin installing, it should take less than a minute to complete
d. When completed choose Finish
3. Go to Windows Start button and find OPOSLDSetup.exe and click on it to run. (alternatively, this can also be found in C:\Program Files (x86)\POS\OPOS Line Display)
a. Select the following in the OPOS LineDisplay Setup Utility.
ii. Device name: LD230
iii. Port: (choose the appropriate port listed in Device Manger for the VFD)
iv. Baud rate: 9600
v. Click on Setup
b. When completed, you will receive a message stating Setup OK, select the OK button to exit.
4. Go to Windows Start button and find VfdOposTest.exe and click on it to run. (alternatively, this can also be found in C:\Program Files (x86)\POS\OPOS Line Display)
a. In the LABAU LineDisplay OPOS Demo Utility, choose LD230 from the Select Device Name drop down menu.
b. Type your desired message in the empty text field and click on Display Text
c. The text should now be showing on the VFD
5. If you wish to view the registry settings, you will find them in: HKEY Local Machine / Software / WOW6432Node / OLEforRetail / ServiceOPOS / LineDisplay / LD230
