This article covers the possibility of mounting larger customer facing displays on an Elo All-in-Ones
Elo occasionally receives inquiries from customers asking whether a larger customer facing display (CFD) can be used, even if it is not listed as a compatible device on the product specification sheet.
Example Scenario:
For Elo’s E-Series 3 AIO touchcomputers, the product specifications state that a 7-inch (0704LS) or 10-inch (1004LS) display is supported. A customer may ask whether they can mount a larger 13-inch (1302L) or 15-inch (1502L) display instead.
Compatibility Considerations:
While it may be physically possible to mount and use a non-supported customer facing display, Elo does not recommend or support this configuration. The key factors to consider are:
- Mounting Compatibility: A larger display may not align properly with the VESA mounting points, preventing secure installation.
- Rotation Clearance: The increased size of the display may obstruct the full range of motion for adjusting the touchcomputer’s display head.
For example, when testing the 13-inch 1302L display on the E-Series 3 AIO:
- The display was physically mounted to the stand, but the larger size restricted the display head’s ability to fully rotate.
- The top two VESA mounting holes could not be used, preventing proper securing of the display.
While a non-supported display may function to some extent, it is not an ideal or recommended solution due to these limitations. For the best performance and support, Elo recommends using only the specified compatible displays.
