Required Equipment
- Flat protective surface
- Elo X-Series AIO Touchcomputer
- Small Phillips screwdriver
- Electrical tape, if the Wi-Fi adapter will not be replaced
- Replacement Wi-Fi adapter, if replacing the module
Procedure
-
Place the unit on a protective surface
Place the X-Series unit face down on a flat protective surface. -
Remove the back cover
Pull up on the two tabs located at the bottom of the back cover, then push upward and forward to remove the cover. -
Disconnect the antenna cables
Locate the Wi-Fi adapter in the upper right corner of the unit and disconnect the black and gray antenna wires from the adapter. -
Remove the adapter screws
Using a small Phillips screwdriver, remove the two screws securing the Wi-Fi adapter. -
Lift the Wi-Fi adapter
Once the screws are removed, the Wi-Fi adapter will lift upward from the slot. -
Remove the adapter
Carefully remove the Wi-Fi adapter from the unit. -
Install the replacement or protect the connectors
If the Wi-Fi adapter will not be replaced, wrap the antenna connectors with electrical tape to help prevent accidental electrical shorts. If installing a replacement adapter, slide the new adapter into the slot and reassemble the unit by reversing the previous steps. -
Reinstall the back cover
Replace the back cover to complete the procedure.
Additional Notes
- Handle the antenna connectors carefully to avoid damaging the connector pins.
- Keep removed screws in a safe place during disassembly.
- Reassemble the unit in the reverse order of disassembly.
