This article and flashing procedure are provided as a courtesy for legacy Elo X-Series AiO Touchcomputers that have reached official End-of-Life (EOL).
CRITICAL HARDWARE CHECK: Elo X-Series units were manufactured with two distinct motherboard architectures: Intel H81 and Intel Q87. This procedure and firmware package apply EXCLUSIVELY to systems equipped with the Q87 motherboard. Attempting to flash this BIOS package onto an H81 motherboard will corrupt the EEPROM and permanently damage the motherboard.

Step-by-Step BIOS Flashing Procedure

Create a DOS-Bootable USB Drive:
Launch the HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool as Administrator. Under Format options, check Create a DOS startup disk, select using DOS system files located at:, and browse to the downloaded and extracted DOS system files folder. Click Start: -
Copy BIOS Flash Files to USB:
Extract the downloadedQ87 BIOS (v113)archive and copy all files directly into the root directory of your bootable USB flash drive: -
Verify Q87 Motherboard Architecture:
Re-verify that your target system is an Intel Q87 motherboard model before proceeding: -
Configure BIOS Boot Order:
Insert the prepared USB drive into the Elo X-Series unit. Power on the computer and repeatedly tap Del or F2 to enter the BIOS Setup utility. Navigate to the BOOT tab and configure the USB Flash Drive as Boot Option #1. Press F4 to save changes and exit: -
Boot into DOS Flash Utility:
The system will boot into the DOS flash environment and display the initialization prompt. Press any key to start the automated flash sequence: -
Flash Execution in Progress:
The flash tool will erase, write, and verify the EEPROM blocks.⚠️ DO NOT INTERRUPT: Do not power off or unplug the machine while the flash routine is actively executing. -
Flashing Complete:
When the flash process successfully concludes, the command line returns to the standardC:\>prompt. Remove the USB flash drive and power cycle the system: -
Verify BIOS Version:
Power on the system and enter BIOS setup. Under the Main tab, verify that the Project Version line displays the updated version (e.g.,V113):
