The UUID is stored in the system's DMI (Desktop Management Interface) information and uniquely identifies the computer. In some service or manufacturing situations, it may be necessary to verify or update the UUID.

Requirements
- Elo X-Series Revision B Touchcomputer
- Administrator access to Windows
- DMI Editor utility

View the Current UUID
- Restart the computer and enter the Administrator BIOS by pressing Ctrl + F2 during startup.
- When prompted, enter the administrator password:
eloelo - Navigate to Main > SMBIOS List and press Enter.
- Record the current UUID displayed.
Change the UUID
- Extract the downloaded DMIEDIT.zip package.
- Right-click DMIEDIT.exe and select Run as administrator.
- Open System Information and double-click the UUID field.
- The DMI Editor will display the current UUID. Modify the values in the Hexadecimal Value field, then click OK.
- Select the Update tab and click ALL.
- When prompted with "Are you sure to update data?", click Yes.
- After the update completes and the message "Updating DMI data done!" appears, click OK.
- Close the DMI Editor and restart the computer.
- Enter the BIOS again and verify the updated UUID under Main > SMBIOS List.
Example: The UUID was changed to:

Only modify the UUID if instructed by Elo Technical Support or as part of an authorized service procedure. Entering an incorrect UUID may affect software licensing, asset management, or system identification.

- Verify DMIEDIT is run with administrator privileges.
- Confirm you are using the utility on an Elo X-Series Revision B Touchcomputer.
- If changes are not retained, repeat the procedure and ensure the Update > ALL option is selected before closing the utility.
- Restart the computer after updating the DMI information before verifying the new UUID.
