Tools & Software Needed
· Elo 2D barcode scanner, P/N: E926356
· Windows Operating System; ie: Windows 7, 8, 8.1, or 10
· Elo 2D Scanner User’s Guide
Procedure
1. Connect the 2D scanner to a compatible Elo touch monitor or touch computer via the micro USB connection.
2. Windows will automatically install HID drivers for the scanner. You can look in Windows Device Manager and see it listed. It will either be listed under Human Interface Devices or you will see it listed as POS Barcode Scanner, see examples below:
3. At this point, the scanner’s illumination light should be on and ready to scan.
a. Out of the box the default settings of the barcode reader will be:
· USB VCP (Virtual COM Port)
· Presentation Mode
· Illumination always on
· Red aimer will turn off between reads
· Most common barcodes enabled
· Beep on successful scan
4. A few of the most common settings modifications are listed below.
a. Clear all suffixes – Before adding the desired suffix, scan the barcode “Clear all suffixes”:
b. Add a carriage return “Enter”
c. Add a TAB
d. USB PC Keyboard Mode
e. USB HID Mode
f. USB Serial Mode – Scan the following code to program the scan engine to emulate a regular RS232-based COM Port. If you are using a Microsoft Windows PC, you will need to download the Honeywell Serial Driver . The driver will use the next available COM Port number.
g. Disable white illumination light when scanner is not in use.
h. Enable white illumination light to be on at all times (this is the default setting)
i. Turn Beeper off
j. Turn Beep ON (this is the default setting)
k. Restore scanner defaults.
5. To modify the scanner settings manually, download the Honeywell EzConfig software
