This article explains how to reset MSR, PN E001002 to factory defaults

To set the Elo E001002 MSR to factory defautls, follow steps below to use the MagTek USBMSR Demo utility, and send the Dynamag Defaults Level 2 KB.txt file. 

1. Download and install MagTek USBMSR Demo Utility 
 

2. With MSR connected to a Windows machine, open USBMSR Demo 2.02 program 
 

3. Verify Encryption Level:

• Check Auto Add Length
• Type 15 in Send Msg box and select Send
• Reset to defaults is only applicable for Data Level 2

4. Download Dynamag Defaults.txt for Level 2  MSR:

5. Select Load File:

6. Navigate to the location you saved Dynamag defaults .txt document and select Open



7. Select Download



8. At the end of the programming, the MSR's USB signal will auto disconnect and reconnect and detect the device. When finished you should see the message at the bottom of the utility Window: "Detected Keyboard Mode Device."



9. Your MSR has now been set back to Factory Defaults.and you can close the utility.
