This article provides instructions for Using MagTek® Reader Config - Remote Services (RS2) - SCRA - Windows 

Accessing the Tool:

Downloading the Setup File:

1. Click the provided URL to open the MagTek Reader Config - Remote Services (RS2) - SCRA - Windows tool in your browser. https://rs.magensa.net/rs2/app/publish.htm 

• The link will direct you to a page with further instructions. You can either launch the application immediately or choose the "Install" option to begin downloading the necessary files.

Running the Setup File:

2. After clicking the "Install" button, the Setup.exe file will be downloaded. Save this file to a location on your computer. For example, you can save it to C:\Users\user.name\Downloads\Magtek.

3. Right-click on the Setup.exe file and select "Run as administrator".



4. If a Security warning appears, select "Install" to proceed.



Installation Process:

5. The installation will begin and should complete within a few seconds.



Logging In:

6. Once the installation is complete, you will see a login screen. If you have MagTek credentials, enter them and click "OK". If you do not have credentials, select "Use Public Account".



Application Launch:

7. The application will open and automatically detect any connected MagTek devices.



Configuring the Reader:

8. Use the Reader Config Options to make configuration changes to the MSR. For example, you can change the MSR from HID mode to Keyboard Emulation Mode.



Verifying Configuration:

9. Click the "Detect" button at the top of the utility to allow it to redetect the connected reader and verify that it is now in Keyboard Emulation Mode (KBE).



10. When finished programming the MSR, exit the program.
