This article explains how to remove all sentinels from MSR E001002

To remove all sentinels from Encrypted Magtek MSR, Elo P/N: E001002, follow below steps.

Procedure

1. Download and Install the Magtek Programming Utility. You will find it in your start menu after it installs. Look for "USBMSR Demo 2.02" and open it.

2. The utility will open and will identify a connected MSR in either Keyboard mode or HID. Screen shot below showing Keyboard Mode Device detected:



3. To manually send a command, you will need to type the command in the “Send Msg” line, select Auto Add Length, and click Send Msg.

• To remove all Sentinels send: 01 14 03

• After command is sent you will see the Request and Response in the data window.

4. After sending any commands, you must send 02 to cycle power to the MSR and to save changes. The device will be redetected by the utility after sending 02.



5. The MSR should now have all Sentinels removed.
