This article describes steps for configuring scan profiles on the Elo M50 Mobile Computers
Note: ScanConfig is not applicable for Elo M60.
1. How to select and apply a scan profile
- Choose a New Scan Profiles
- From the dropdown menu, the user can select an enabled profile and apply the configurations to the built-in scanner.
2. How to create a new scan profile
- Create a new Scan Profile
- On the Scan Config Home screen, click on the Setting icon to access Scan Profiles.
- On the Scan Profile screen, all profiles (both enabled and disabled) are listed. User can select any profile for modifications.
3. Add a New Scan Profile
- On the Scan Profiles screen, tap the + icon on the top right corner to launch the New San Profile dialog window.
- Enter preferred profile name then click Save
- The new Scan Profile will be added to the Enabled list automatically.
4. Configure a profile
- Click on a profile to open the configuration screen.
- Multiple configuration options are available for customization.
- User can use the Enable Profile toggle to enable/disable profile status.
4.1. Input Settings
- Use toggle to enable or disable the integrated decoder.
- Tap Select Decoder Formats to select the different decoder formats for this profile to capture.
- By default, all 17 decoder formats are activated.
- Select or deselect a format by tapping the format name.
- User can get a parameter and setting to the profile by clicking the Add Parameter button on the Input Settings screen.
- Once all values are entered, click Add.
- The selected parameter and setting will be displayed as shown on the right.
4.2. Formatting Settings
- Formatting settings allow user to:
- Add Prefix Characters
- Add Suffix Characters
- Enable Hex Format
- Enter automatic tab after decoding
- Enter automatic enter after decoding
4.3. Output Settings
- Keyboard
- Enter the processed data onto a text field using the keyboard.
- Intent
- Sends the processed data to the associated foreground app.
4.4. Apply to Apps
- User can use the toggle to apply the selected profile to all or each app individually.
Note: When a different profile has already applied to an application, the profile name will be displayed next to the app name. For example, this image showing that YouTube, Google and Gmail have been assigned to the UPC scan profile.
4.5. Trigger Settings
- User can decide which trigger button(s) to use for manual scan setup.
- When Virtual Scanner is selected, a trigger point will appear on the screen. User can drag and drop the trigger point at any location on the screen.
4.6. Duplicate Profile
- Create an identical replication by clicking the Duplicate Profile button.
- Enter preferred profile name then click Save.
- The profile will be added to the Enabled list automatically.
4.7. Export Profile
- To export the profile, click on the Export Profile button.
- A folder directory to where the profile is saved will be shown in the dialog window.
- Click OK to proceed.
4.8. Delete Profile
- To delete the profile, tap Delete at the bottom of the screen.
- In the Delete Profile dialog window, click Delete to confirm.
5. Import Scan Profile
- Click Import Scan Profile on the Scan Profiles screen, user can import pre-existing profiles saved on the Elo device.
