This article describes the steps on how to sideload an OTA update on an Elo M50 Mobile computer using a micro SD card

1. Obtain the OTA update .zip file from Elo Support

2. Download the OTA update .zip file and save to a micro SD card.

3. Remove battery from M50, for help see this article.



4. Insert Micro SD Card into M50 SD card holder, for help see this article.



5. Reconnect battery and lock into place, for help see this article.

6. Hold in the Power key and the Trigger 2 key at the same time.  



7. The Status light will flash green. Do not release keys until the Status light stops flashing.



8. M50 will boot into boot loader screen. Use Left or Right trigger key to navigate to "Apply update from SD card," then press the Power key to select. 



9. Use Left or Right trigger key to navigate to "ota.zip," then press the Power key to select. 



10. OTA update will begin. Please be patient, the process may take up to 30-minutes to complete. Do not interrupt the install or the M50 may become unuseable. 






11. When process is complete, use Left or Right trigger key to navigate to "Reboot system now," then press the Power key to select. M50 will reboot and return to normal sign in screen.
