This article explains how control the monitor's brightness and other settings remotely using MCCS in Windows

Elo IDS Monitors, Open Frame Monitors, and some of our newer desktop monitors have the capability sending MCCS commands through the video DDC/CI channel to make adjustments to the display settings. This requires a utility to send the commands. One such utility is softMCCS from EnTech.
