This article describes what Sticky Boot is and reasons for using it.
Sticky boot is an option that can be in Elo's 4.0 product line. The settings can be found in Android Settings System Advanced Reset Options. Sticky boot ensures that whenever a factory reset is performed, the device's mode will be remembered. Elo's Android devices can be used in two mode's, EloView Mode or Android Home Mode. When a factory reset is performed, typically, the default Out of Box Experience (OOBE) will be displayed, as seen below.
However, If sticky boot is enabled this OOBE will not present itself and boot the device directly into the previous mode the device is in.
It may be beneficial to toggle sticky boot on, especially when using EloView mode, to ensure the device does not accidentally get placed into Android Home mode where it cannot be remotely managed.
