This articles discusses how to scan driver's licenses with an Elo first gen Barcode Scanner
To scan a driver's license with an Elo 2D Barcode Scanner, you will need the Elo 2D Barcode Scanner, PN E926356, and a Honeywell EasyDL License.

1. Purchase a Honeywell EasyDL license
- Print out the license activation barcode for later use
2. Download and unzip the Honeywell EasyDL plug-in software Easy Parse for DL2.0 Plug-in-5.5.19_EV000012BBF.zip
3. Launch the EZConfig tool EZConfig-Scanning v4_v4.5.35_Setup.zip
4. When launching the EZConfig tool, if prompted, make sure to allow your web browser to run scripts.
5. Click Connected Device
6. Click Configure Device
7. In the “Update from File” area, click Browse
8. Locate/choose the EasyDL software and click Open
9. When ready, click Update Device
10. To activate the EasyDL license, click Scan Data Window
11. Scan the provided license code
12. Conduct a test scan using a driver’s license
- Verify that the first name, middle name, and last name is displayed clearly
13. Download, unzip and install the EasyDL 2.0 Configuration Utility EasyDL2.0 ConfigUtility V108.zip
14. Launch the EasyDL 2.0 Configuration Utility (as an administrator)
15. Select a document field e.g. “Names of person”
16. From the list of data fields (for the selected document field), select the required data fields
17. Select another document field e.g. “Dates”
18. From the list of data fields (for the selected document field), select the required data fields
19. Select the required separator fields and reposition them (move up / move down) in between the selected data fields
20. When done, click the Generate Barcode button
21. Click Print
22. Return to the EZConfig tool and go to the “Scan Data Window” area
23. Scan the EasyDL configuration barcode
24. Conduct a test scan using a driver’s license
- Veriify that the information displayed is correct based on the configuration settings established
