Tools & Software Needed
- Elo 2D barcode scanner, P/N: E926356
- Windows Operating System; ie: Windows 7, 8, 8.1, or 10 (must have C++ 2010 to install the serial driver)
HSM USB Serial Driver version 3.5.5-WHQL-06-06-2016.zip
Procedure
1. Do not connect the 2D scanner until instructed to do so in this procedure.
2. Download the Honeywell 3.5.5 Serial Driver .zip file
3. Unzip the Serial driver and extract it to a location such as the desktop.
4. Open the newly extracted folder and select the “setup.bat”. Right click and choose “Run as administrator”, and follow the instructions.
5. After the Honeywell driver installs, connect the 2D barcode scanner to one of the micro-usb ports on a compatible Elo Touchmonitor or an Elo Windows AIO system.
6. Go into Windows Device Manager and verify that the Honeywell Control Device entry is present under “Universal Serial Bus Controllers”.
7. If the 2D scanner is already in Virtual Comport Mode there will also be a new entry under the “Ports” section. If the 2D scanner was not in Virtual Comport Mode you will need to scan the “VCP Mode (Virtual COM Port) TERMID130.” Barcode label that is on page 9 of the Elo 2D Scanner User’s Guide.
8. The device should now be ready to use as a COM device.
