This article explains how to turn off the white illumination light on the 2D Barcode Scanner
The white illumination light is set to ON as the factory default on the Elo/Honeywell 2D Barcode Scanner.
To turn the light OFF, you must scan the disable code, as found on page 10 of the Scanner's User's Guide
