This article demonstrates how to use "Add Parameter" feature to make an EAN-8 barcode compatible in format to EAN-13 via ScanConfig app for Elo M50 Handheld device.

1. On the M50 device, open ScanConfig application

2. Tap on "Settings (⚙)" at the top right corner then select the "Default" scan profile or create a new scan profile by tapping "Add (+)"

3. Tap on Input Settings

4. Tap "Add Parameter" then enter "39” for “Get Parameter and “1” for Set Settings” then tap "Add" when finished.



5. Tap "Back Arrow (←)" to go back to the main screen.

6. Scan an EAN-8 barcode. Additional zero numbers will be added to the 8-digit code.
