This article explains why the barcode reader is beeping but not outputting barcodes into an application
Whenever a barcode reader scans and emits a beep, that means it has successfully read the barcode; however, most people want the scanner information to also output the barcode information into their application or an open field. For a scanner to output into an open field, it must be setup in Keyboard Emulation.
