This article explains how to resolve the five beeps and no video issue after changing the CMOS battery in EloPOS
If you recently changed the CMOS battery in your Elo AIO (All-In-One) system (I-Series 2.0, EloPOS, EloPOS Pack, E-Series) and afterwards you are receiving 5 short beeps from the motherboard and no video on the monitor when trying to start up the system, see below.
1. Disconnect the power cable from the AIO.
2. Connect a USB keyboard.
3. Reconnect the power cable to the AIO.
4. Press the power button on the AIO to start system.
5. As system begins starting up, continuously tap the DEL key on the connected keyboard.
6. You may see an AMI BIOS option screen or an Elo splash screen as shown below, select the Setup option.
7. Using the keyboard, navigate to the Save & Exit tab in the BIOS.
8. Scroll down and choose Restore Defaults, choose Yes to save.
- NOTE: This will clear any custom changes that may have been set in the BIOS. You will need to reapply any needed custom BIOS changes after this procedure.
9. Scroll up to Save Changes and Reset, choose Yes to save.
10. The AIO should now restart without any issues. If you need to make custom changes in the BIOS, you may do so at this time.
