This article provides steps for removing and replacing the CMOS battery in 22-inch and 15-inch* EloPOS or i-Series 2.0 with Windows AIO TouchComputers.
Please read over the procedure before attempting to perform. If you are not experienced or comfortable disassembling electronic equipment, please do not attempt. Damage that occurs when performing this procedure is not covered under the Elo warranty. You can send the unit in to Elo's Authorized Repair Center to have the CMOS battery replaced, for instructions go HERE
Steps to remove and replace the CMOS battery in 22-inch and 15-inch* EloPOS and i-Series 2.0 with Windows devices.
1. Disconnect power and place 22โ EloPOS or 22โ i-Series 2.0 with Windows unit face down on protective surface.
2. Remove screw from SSD cover and remove cover.
3. Remove SSD screw and lift SSD module out of unit.
4. CMOS battery is now accessible.
5. Disconnect the battery power leads from the header connector.
6. Carefully lift CMOS battery out of unit. Be aware, battery is mounted with very strong adhesive be careful not to break circuit board.
7. Once adhesive is unstuck, use fingers to lift battery up and out of unit.
8. Photo below shows adhesive on back of battery.
9. Replace CMOS battery with new one and reassemble in reverse method of disassembly.
- Replacement CMOS battery = CR-2032 3V with leads and adhesive. Example from 3rd party HERE
10. You will need to reset the date and time in the BIOS after performing this procedure.
