This article explains how to create a custom barcode configuration for the SE4720
This article describes how to create a programming barcode for Elo 2D Barcode Scanners, P/Ns: E384627 and E454122 which are integrated with the Zebra SE4720 Scan Engine with the PL5000 decoder. The scanner does NOT have to be connected to create the barcode. This will allow you to configure all your barcode scanner settings and save as a barcode printout to use on any barcode scanner of the same model.
These steps are written specifically for the Zebra SE4720; however, it is applicable for all Elo Zebra barcode scanners, just change the scanner model to the appropriate one in the utility.
Steps
1. Download and install the Zebra 123Scan configuration utility
2. Open Zebra 123Scan and choose Create new configuration file.
3. Choose My scanner is NOT connected
4. Type in PL5000 into the search box OR scroll down and choose PL5000 from the scanner family options.
5. Click on the Plug-in for PL5000-COMMON MODELS
- (Do NOT choose PL5000-DP-MODELS)
6. Name your configuration in the Configuration name box. Add any notes and choose Next
- Example: Configuration name below has been changed to KB Emulation. Notes have been added describing what the configuration is for.
7. Choose your desired settings. In this example we have chosen "HID Keyboard Emulation."
8. Continue clicking Next through the rest of the configuration settings, choosing your desired settings. Once all settings have been chosen you can choose your method of saving the pre-configured barcode
9. in this example we chose Save to PC
10. The configuration file can now be found in the saved location on the PC.
11. You can choose to Print the barcode and use it on any of the same model Zebra barcode scanners to be configured with the same settings.
