Cause

Beginning with scanners manufactured on or after serial number L225777360 (December 26, 2022), Zebra introduced an updated decoder board that is not included in older versions of the 123Scan utility. Because the decoder board is unknown to the software, the scanner cannot be programmed until the updated plug-in is installed.

Install the Plug-in
- Download and save the plug-in to your computer.
- Open the Zebra 123Scan utility. Select Tools > Import Plug-in into 123Scan.
- Browse to the downloaded plug-in file. Select: PL5000-ELO TOUCH DL PARSING PL5000DL-BP040R-C-001.SCNPLG Click Open.
- After the plug-in has been imported successfully, the following confirmation message is displayed: "Your plug-in imported successfully."
- The scanner can now be programmed normally using Zebra 123Scan.
