Users typically need to setup the scanner's trigger in Presentation Mode, and setup the scanner's mode in Keyboard Mode. This can be done by using EZConfig, or by scanning the appropriate barcodes.
If the scanner is not lighting or appears unpowered, then set the scanner's trigger to Presentation Mode. The user will need to use the manual trigger, which is labeled as the Factory Reset Button in the below image, in order to trigger the scanner.
The below barcodes set the scanner to Presentation Mode. Try the first code, and if the scanner does not automatically light up when it senses motion, then scan the second code to set Presentation Mode.

If the scanner is not outputting text or data, then set the scanner to Keyboard Mode. The below barcode sets Keyboard Mode.
You may test the barcode scanner by opening a text field. For example, open the built-in Windows program called "Notepad", focus in the text box by clicking in the text box, and scan a barcode to test if the scanner outputs data.
Users may need to consult with their application provider to determine if their application requires a different scanner configuration.
