This article describes how to use the 3.5mm RS232 cable to send remote commands to the Elo 03-Series and 53-Series Digital Display monitors.
Elo's 03-Series and 53-Series IDS monitors ship with a Serial 3.5mm male to Serial DB9 female cable which can be used for sending Multiple Display Control Protocol (MDCP) to the monitor from a remote computer.
Setup
1. Insert the 3.5mm male cable end into the female 3.5mm port labeled "Serial" on the side of the monitor
2. Connect the DB9 RS232 connector end of the cable to an available RS232 comport on your computer. Make note of the comport number.
3. Using your MDCP Utility, connect to the comport to send commands to the monitor. On the 03 and 53 Series IDS monitors, you do NOT have to make any changes in the OSD menu to enable MDC. The comport is active immediately upon connection.
- If you do not have a MDCP Utility, you we recommend using Advanced Serial Port Terminal from Eltima Software.
- For command reference, please see ELO_APP_Notes
