This article explains how to configure an Elo Android device to operate as a standard Android device instead of using EloView.
Before You Begin
If the device is currently enrolled in an EloView account, it must first be removed from that account.
- Log in to your EloView account and delete the device.
See the following article for instructions: How do I delete a Device from EloView 4 (EV4)?
Reset the Device and Enable Android Home Mode
- After the device is removed from EloView, the screen will display a message indicating that no content is configured for the device. This is expected behavior.
- Press and hold the Power and Home buttons simultaneously to access the Control Panel.
- Swipe up from the bottom of the screen to open the Control Panel.
- Enter the Control Panel password. Default password: 1elo
- Tap the menu icon (hamburger menu) in the upper-right corner.
- Select the Admin icon.
- Enter the Admin password. Default password: 1elo
- Select the Settings icon.
- Tap Android Settings.
- Scroll down and select System.
- Select Advanced.
- Select Erase all data (factory reset).
- Tap Erase all data.
- Confirm again by tapping Erase all data.
- Once the reset completes, the device will reboot. Connect the device to your Wi-Fi network.
- The device will check for and install any available updates.
- Select Android Home Mode.
- Tap OK to confirm.
- The device will boot into Android Home Mode.
Switching Back to EloView Mode
To switch back to EloView, repeat steps 10–17 above and select Enroll with EloView instead of Android Home Mode.
If your network supports it, you may also choose to enroll using GMS Enrollment.
You have now successfully configured the device to operate as a standard Android device.
