This article provides the step to set up and test the cash drawer on an EloPOS unit
This procedure steps the end-user through setting up and testing a cash drawer on the EloPOS all-in-one touchcomputer.
Hardware/Software Needed
• EloPOS all-in-one touchcomputer
• Cash Drawer (this procedure uses an APG Cash Drawer Multi-Pro 320)
• Cash Drawer Cable (this procedure uses an APG CD101A)
• Elo Cash Drawer Driver: EloUPOSSetup_4.0.6 (also attached to this KB)
• Microsoft Point of Service for .NET (POS for .NET) v1.14.1
Steps
1. Physically connect the cash drawer cable between the EloPOS and the cash drawer.
2. If the EloUPOS Cash Drawer driver is not already installed, install it. There should be a copy of it in the following location: C:\EloTouchSolutions\Peripherals\CashDrawer – if not, download from the link in the hardware/software section of this tech bulletin.
4. Run the setup by double clicking on it.
5. The driver will begin installing.
6. Choose Next
7. Select OPOS and then Next
8. Change the default location if so desired, otherwise, just leave it as is and choose Next
9. Choose Next
10. Information on the names to use for the cash drawer are listed on this page. Choose Next to continue.
11. Choose Close to close the driver package. The Elo CashDrawer UPOS driver is now installed.
12. Download and install the Microsoft Point of Service Software v.1.14.1
13. Choose Next
14. Accept the License Agreement and choose Next
15. Make the desired selection and choose Next
16. Change the location if so desired, otherwise leave the default location as is and choose Next
17. Click on the Runtime Components drop-down menu and select Entire feature will be installed on local hard drive.
18. Click on the SDK dropdown menu and select Entire feature will be installed on local hard drive and then choose Install
19. Choose Finish
19. From the Start menu, navigate to the newly installed Microsoft POS for .NET 1.14.1 folder and select POS for .NET SDK Samples
20. Open the Sample Application folder
21. Double click the TestApp to run
22. In the Microsoft POS Tester utility, choose OposAndCompatibilityLevel1 from the drop-down menu
- Choose EloPOS CD1 under the CashDrawer option in the left column
- Choose Open -- Claim -- DeviceEnabled -- OpenDrawer the cash drawer should then open
